Just like most of yall on this forum i change my mind about my next set up on a DAILY BASIS! I been thinking latley about 4 12" Sundown SA's on my RD 3250(if i do go with this setup i will most likly cop a sundown 3k just to match everything up)... Amp would be ran at 0.5 ohm but electrical will be up to par also. Question is will it fit inside a Gbody MCSS trunk?

Yep sealed, ported no, but not impossible u just want have anywhere in the trunk for batts after building box, wait u may be able to slip two gp31 batts back there but u will def have to mount ur amp on the back side of the box, n each subs should have around 1.7-1.8 before displacement, I know alot of people on here say it can't be done but I have seen it done before in a cutlass subs up port back, I wish I still knew dude number who built the box, he is actually a member on here but rarely gets on, his member name is shrek256 I think, he made a thread once about loudest trunk setup in general talk section before

Im pretty sure if i build inside the trunk it will work. I already have a kinetic 2400 that i plan to put in the spare tire well (im hoping it will fit in there but im about 99% sure it will) I will most likly grab another 2400 and a group 31 for up front and a HO alt. Anybody had any experience with the SA"s??
On another note another set up i was thinking about was 3 12" HDC3's on 2 3250s strapped.
DECISIONS!! DECISIONS!!! LOL

Did Steve fix those 3250v2 yet, n the 4 12 box that was in the cutty wasn't built in the trunk, built outside then dropped in

3 12's ported will fit.
4 ported will be to tight to work.
4 10's ported will work.
I had a cutty so I've done measurements 100xs and it just aint the best choice to attempt.

Not sure if the 3250v2 situation got resolved yet but I have a 3250v1 anyway so im not really worried about it...
Now between these 2 systems...
4 12" SA's on 1 3250v1
OR
3 12" HDC3s on 2 3250v1's strapped
which setup would be louder?
I know from what i have read the SA's would have better sound quality but im thinkin the HDC3's may give more output than the SA's would. Not sure though....

those hdc3's are alot louder than most of their competitors but yes the SA would have better SQ, port those 3 12's and that gbody trunk will hate you lol.

I've always liked to have a love/hate relationship w/ my trunk lol but i am leaning more towards the HDC3's I do love SQ subs but i really want my next setup to be a straight up ground pounder! Most likely will set it up so subs and ports facing forward (towards taillights) Build an amp rack on that back hump to place the 2 RD amps and the 1 or 2 amps for the mids/highs. Then place one batt in spare tire spot and other batt on side of box....
May cop a couple SA's though and throw em in the daily...

SQ dont matter unless it's in the cabin with the listener.
There is 2 guys that won SQ comps with HDC3s, one setup was sealed with (4) 12 the other was ported with (2) 12's both AQ

But that's usually done with staging meaning leaving ur subs 20-60hz n mids 60-120 etc.... U get what am I saying but when ur not staging like that, people with sq still in mind tend to looks for subs with a good long extention so everything they play is loud even after 60hz, see that's one thing about a sealed setup every song u bump is loud cause ur filter is set aroud a hundred n playing all those notes without a bad roll off, when I move to ported that is not the case, some songs gone bam like a bitch while others won't and it tends to make u skip alot of tracks lol, that's why I prefer a sq sub with output, so I can go ported n still bam everythig n stay moderately loud with every song I play with a good curve from 20-80hz which is why I chose the qs read to many reviews with them being pretty loud with crushing lows while tuned at 30hz but still reaching 80hz without a bad roll off, but I am trying to figure out how to get 6 12s in there right now if I can fuck the qs

I'm saying a SQ sub in the trunk is worthless or SQ comps without it being in the cabin.
What you refering to is staging which is another topic. you can stage any sub to do that, thats x-over and box there, the subs does'nt matter.
I get what you saying but thats kinda the wrong lead.
What you want is leaning to a 4th order BP, give you exactly what you want.

From word of mouth heard it's suck when it's not blownthrough, heard ported was the way to go if u was gone keep it in a trunk, u know when I say sq sub u know I really mean SQL, sub that plays loud but still musical with a good response curve
