yeah i kinda figured that because the springs really not that much bigger than the originals but ..i guess im just going to install the arms on without extending them ..and see wat it look like when im done .. .
alvin
FINISH INSALLING THE SHOCKS AND SPRINGS AND LET IT DOWN ..THIS IS WAT IT LOOK LIKE

I KNO IT CAN GO HIGHER ...WAT WOULD I NEED ?? I THOUGHT THE COMPLET LIFT FROM UNIVERSAL CAR LIFT WAS GOING TO BE ALL I NEED BUT WAT ELSE COULD I DO ?
alvin
SPINGS NOT SITTING ON THE AXEL RIGHT ...STILL CANT GET THEM ARMS RIGHT
donkboy8
your springs do that cause as you go higher and change your pinion angle( by adjusting the arms) you turn the axle. so you can either relocate the spring perches or ride like that and hope for the best.

ok i think im going to order some 5 inch cups to go alone with the new springs and arms ...i thought the kit with the springs was going to be enoght but i guess not ...the rear end come down a long was with the arm so why would they send them little ass springs ?
donkboy8
its not about cups or bigger springs, they will sit crooked as well. when you adjust your pinion , you turn your whole axle assembly so the driveshaft is still ined up properly with the lift. so even with cups or springs they will sit crooked, so all you gotta do is buy some coil spring perches or relocate the ones you have and weld them in place right under the new location of the spring. and you dont really need to be any higher anyways, but i do not know what your plans are.

ok ima keep that in mind but i dont think im going to need to ..because if i lift it alittle more my axel should be str8 so the springs sit right ..ill see when the cups get here

How exactly are u trying to sit....do u have any pictures of caprices that have the look ur trying to go for??
donkboy8
i dont think he gets the fact that as he goes higher he will extend the arms more and the axle will be more tilted then now. by goin up 5 more inches your axle will not straighten. you gotta center the wheel like trace said and then adjust the upper arm properly depending on how much you did the lowers. and then your axle will be tilted backwards. or maybe im not understanding the problem he is trying to show in the picture talking. and when trace said the rear is gonna have to come up i think he is talking about in a forward direction to center it and not higher.

Its two ways he can center his wheel back...if he goes higher(but u would have to do the front of the car as well)...or if he adjust the trailing arms in some(best way to go...IMO)!!

yeah i understand it i just want it higher ...i bout the kit thinkin that was it. But the spring they gave me really arent that big so i order some cup im going to put them in , and see wat happens ..if i have to relocate the spring mounts or watever there called i will

i want to sit like this do u think i will need spindles ?
RICK206
Yeah, you're gonna have to relocate the perches, get the spindles and extend your drive line.

ok but i kno i probly can pull some from the junk yard ...i just dont kno wat kind of truck i was thinkin silverado or s10 but im not sure wat kind of truck can i get them from ???
donkboy8
no you need the 1500 lift spindle, that gonna be tough to find in the junkyard. when people say 1500 spindle they are meaning the 1500 lift spindle. and the one in the for sale is a good deal
donkboy8
and i believe its the 88-98 2wd so you can keep the same lug pattern

so wat r u saying r they custom made or do any truck come stock with them ?
941cutty
man they r custom made for people that wanted to lift there trucks but can be used on cars....very highly doubt you gonna find lifted spindles in a junkyard..they arent stock

U need a 1500 LIFT spindle...u have to order them...they dont come factory on trucks....so u wont find them in the junkyard...and u gonna have to switch out ur balljoints to get the spindle to work right...END THREAD!!

There should be a hole in the frame rail(no the side)... next to the shock.....put it in there...there are a few holes on the frame rail(on the bottom)...it will help u guide the line to the last hole on the frame rail that leads parallel to the end of the gas tank...and run it along the body til u reach the license plate...best way i know to run airshock lines to the back.....oh yeah...make sure u put tape on the open end of the airshock before u run them...thats so u dont get any unnecessary trash in the line...i always tape the ends as soon as i take the shocks out the box!!
