ive posted before about putting 22's on a grand am so im finally getting around 2 it. ive called around a couple of places and they ranged anywere between 200-650 dollars to lift the car up. one shop said they use a machine to pound ur strut plate up and use spring boost cups. they were the cheapest at 200. im just wondering if thats the proper way to lift your car or not because ucl is 1250 with new struts and that was a little more then what i was looking 2 spend. but if ucl going to give me a correct lift with reliability to go with it then i will go that route. i just dont want to do some bootleg shit to my car thats gonna have my suspension fucked up. so please chime in wit anyhelp.

when i was gonna get my ga lifted i was quoted 600 to extend the struts....which is wats needed...u need to extend them to where the struts mount up u extend em and the bolt holes are higher...bangin the strut cup wont help on a grand am,a grand prix ya cuz they got bigger fenderwells and have bigger struts...ive seen ucl's lift and if i rememba rite they juz extend em and the bolt holes are lower which extneds the strut and puts it up higher...ive seen em dun to and most shops juz weld in eitha a piece of pipe or the whole section that the strut bolts up to your car at(which usually is aroun 2-3 inches) which is all you need for 22's on a grand am..iono where you live but north tampa customs can do it...but that bangin the strut cup up n spring boosters wont work and have u ridin like shit if you did

i live in memphis, is there anyway i can possibly give them my struts and have them extend it? cause i dont trust the shops i went to, they all about shortcuts and short term. so you think if i sent my struts to north tampa customs, they would extend my struts for me?

I got a impala and its the same thing basically. I did mine myself in like 45min one day when i was bored.I talked to lil juice and told him how to get them on his boy impala but im not sure if he end up doing it that way. Since its not really the correct way to do it.Me and my boy wit a Gp bout to go 6s. He just went to a machine shop and got plates made and dropped his spindle down r some shit. Had them on his lumina on 6s for a year and nothin happend.

ummm, sounds better then lifter cups. so what would i tell a machine shop to do??? or were should i tell them to weld and drill new holes at? i have no idea about lifting cars because i always had trucks and didnt have to worry to much about lifting. any who i might just get prepared to get rapped by ucl unless there is some shop down there in florida that i can mail my struts to and have them do it.

I just used a bottle jack to lift those strut plated up and put the rims on.Drove about 1500 miles before i took them off. No problems

id call em n ask em...i cant speak for the guy...but i kno he does good work so i dont see y he couldnt

only thing bout that is grand prix's n impalas struts are bigger cuz ive got a 2000 rega and it the same size strut as the impala n stuff n a grand ams r shorter cuz i barely could put 20's wit the lowest tire wit no mods to the suspension...and my regal i did no modsd but cut alil the fender to turn for 22's...grand ams need to be extended they are a smaler car then the grand prix's n impalas

so dont realy see any other way then juz extneding the strut 2-3 inches is wats needed and alil trimming off the front fenders to turn and you good

ive called around and around, and nobody extends struts. they either look at me like im stupid or like i made some shit up. even had some dude say lift cups are better then any strut mod. so 941 cutty if u can give me the number ill call up there and see whats up, because i cant let these dumb fucks fuck my car up. if i cant just ship the struts to them i guess i got to go the universal car lifts route.

did you ever calll north tampa customs? cuz i think you can send yo struts to em im sure and they extend em and send em back to ya

not to thread jack but i have a 04 impala. i got a set of 22"s on now, and i want to go to 24"s i know it can be done ive seen alot of them around here like that. my question is i dont want to use those spring lifters i had em on and it makes the ride ruff so i took them off. now if i was to get the struts extended would i have to use the lifters or can some1 explain to me how that works

u need yo stuts extended to put 24's on..your suspension same as my 00 regal and 22's barely fit on...so anything bigger and you got to extend em so the strut cup moves up so that wheel will fit in and trim sum of the body alil to turn

Baton rouge louisiana. I kno a couple of guys that just mount em up and throw in those spring lifters and call it a day. Like i had said i had those and it makes the ride stiff so i took em off. So to extend the spindles call one of the numbers up above and they can tell me the process involved. Oh and wit the 22"s im running 255/30 and not a single cut but i rub just a little only time u hear it is wen the tire is wet

I do business with them wheen i need some work done. And i got both of my partners 06 impalas struts modded there for their 24s. Just hit the number up and they will give you the directions they are are covington pike. I dont know the exact address i just know how to get there.

I can get ya car lifted without havin to use them lifters. My impala dont have lifters. U prolly saw me ridin round r my boy. Black new body impalas on 4s wit tinted lights.

think i only have seen about 2 black new body ones on 24"s but havent seen them in a while
