Depends how you run it and where your mounting the amp. If you run it straight from the battery through the firewall and right down the side of the passenger or drivers side under the carpet (instead of all along and under neath th interior panels )and the amp is mounted right up against the back side of the rear seat in the trunk it should be good.. 17ft is pretty long but you gotta count in all the curve and shit you would have to go around in which is gonna shorten that 17ft up real quick VS. trying to tuck it away looking nice in the engine bay and getting it inside the car and doing a straight shot to the trunk.

Thats why I see if you are going to build a car, take the interior out and run your wires, should be one of the first things done on the list. Run it straight down the middle. under the carpet.,
