Full Version: How do i add speakers in my door pads?
i been thinkin bout da merc interior and i mite do some 6.5s on da doors.i want em in da rear doors. da carpeted area along da bottom. pics or sumtin please i nedd 2 get an idea on how 2 do these. preferrably 3 6.5s in each door.

Fiberglass is your friend homie. 
X2 or you could get those sets that are already in some type of enclosure and all you would have to do is cut and drill

can't i go to lows or home depot and get one of dem cup saws and cut a hole out big enogh 4 da 6.5s?

i've never done any glass work. how do i do it? jus make a raised freme, then cover it with felt, then brush on resin, sand and paint or what?

You could go that route but fibetglss would be the best way

Stop making all these threads for a question that can be asked in the threads I created. for instance, this should go in the speaker thread.

scuff up and clean the doors.
Cut out speaker rings and place them on the door how you want them to look.
wrap the whole bottom half with fleece
apply resin
apply chop mat
apply resin repeat 2-3 more times
sand
apply kitty hair if felt needed.
apply a milkshake (body filler and resin mixed)
sand sand sand sand
wrap your panel with whatever material or sand some more primer and paint.
That shit is rough as fuck lol and skipped so many other factors but it gives you an idea.. if you have doubts on if you can do it take it to an professional. Other wise prepare to get extra set of door panels cause if its your first time or your just not handy with this type of thing you will just fuck up your doors.
and looks like (2) 6.5 at most for the bottom door would fit(if you want a clean look) and looks like 3-4 could fit along the front door bottoms.

haha . i know wat ur sayin. i mean im good at car mess but i've never fuked wid fb before. i think ima jus make a lil center console wid 6 speakers. 2 on da sides and 2 on top. and ill try to fiberglass it. if i mess up i'll try again till i get it rite. lol mdf is cheap. da only part i don't get is da "kitty hair.

"Kitty hair is just body filler with chopped fiber glass in it..just adds that extra bit of strength..
