I switched out the rear gears on my 89 Vic LTD LX with the 8.8 rearend ,from the 6 -33s to 7 -33s total cost was $100 for the gear and $75 for the bearings....Much better on gas...well worth it..

are you talking about rear end gears or the 8.8" rear end axle

The Gears in the 8.8 axle were 6-33 swapped out for some 7-33 ........
