Sata Jet 3000 HVLP with a 1.4 tip is a good gun for Kandies. Having a good gun will play a big factor in your paint, but your gun control and gun set-up will play a bigger factor. I have shot Kandies with a $50 gun that looked just as good as with the Sata. Devilbiss and Iwata also make good guns. It really depends on how much painting you will be doing because the more expensive ones will pay for themselves over time, with the amount of time and material saved.

Its all in the wrist, not the gun.
But I believe you wont even be able to lay the basecoat down correctly. I say take it some where, or just stick to 2 stage basecoat clear. Stray from metallics though as you probably wont be able to lay them down correctly

wow good way to answer a question about a gun and not discourage dude! and if your paintn wit just your wrist then you need to go to whoever taught you how to paint and smack they ass. no wonder ur shit didnt come out correct!
like you sword fighten or some shit. ol zoro as ma fucka
dont let this dude discourage you.. he prolly tried to paint his own car and fucked it up, or someone toll him some bull shit like he feedn you. look if your not comfortable sprayin it then get a big piece of metal,,, or go to the junkyard and get some fenders and practice. if you have the money to make a mistake and fix it then do ya thang... but if your on a budget and you have doubts then either get someone to help or take it to someone who does a good job.
i like iwatas .. satas are coo to. there is no best gun everyone has their fav. some guns are made to spray clear better or matallics better. but there to me is no supperior gun. unless where talkn material consumption and tech shit what gun can spray better at low pressure
good luck man..post pics when ur done! dont listen to people like "fukaudioadvice" !

i agree, i've worked with ridiculously expensive guns, and some cheap ones, in essence, they all do the same thing, lol...
practice is key... i also recommend using fenders, or doors, hoods, etc...

sata jet 3000's are the way to go i use them everyday (im the painter at our shop)
but im going to tell you this, if you dont know what kind of gun to use you shouldnt be spraying candy your self. your going to fuck it up completely if youve never done a candy dont use your hok products as your beginner.
if you fuck up, you WILL HAVE TO RESPRAY THE WHOLE CAR! theres no spot jobs on candys or fixing shit, you fuck up its over with!!!!!
just lettin ya know if your not that experienced with painting i wouldnt try to do a candy, its like never riding a dirt bike then getting on and trying to back flip the first jump.
start off with solid colors then move on to metallics, once u get the metallics laying out without tiger striping then try some small candy stuff.
with the candy you have to walk the whole side of the car in order not to make dark spots where u over lap
start off with easy shit then gradually go into the custom stuff!!!
good luck!
just some info for ya!

in my opinion to spray kandy no matter what brand it is,u must know what your doin, have your gun set up correctly, the right ratio of kandy and intercoat clear, know how to walk the car and correct over lapping.
like everything else it all takes practice and dedication.
i been painting as a hobby for about 2 years now, spraying 2 stage paint jobs, fakes and pearl, and marble effects.i started on vbank skateboards, sign blanks and motorcycle tanks, and i just started to practice my kandy's and yes it takes a practice.
i would recommend practicing before u conquer your car.
and yes, protect yourself at all times invest in a repirator and atleast wear a long sleeve jump suit.
i know if i spray out side for 2 or 4 minutes i feel like i ran a mile and burnt out.
those voc can be your worst enemies.
good luck on your aint job.
