does your dash have cracks in it?
Boa24
you need to wipe them down REAL GOOD with some wax and grease remover. Then hit it with some alcohol. Some adhesion promoter, sandless primer, then paint. I did this on a monte carlo i had a few yrs back and used SEM products. Didnt rub off, chip, anything for the 3 1/2 yrs I had it.

JayCee2007
In the past I:
1) Clean
2) Sand
3) Clean
4) Primer
5) Paint 2 to 3 coats but not heavy or you'll loose texture
6) And last a couple of coats of none gloss clear coat

I guarantee it wont fade or chip.

^ Best info in here.

First things first, paint won't stick (no matter what you do to band-aid it) if you don't remove all the contaminents from the surfaces first (dirt, grease, armor all, etc). Then you can use alcohol like he mentions, or we use lacquer thinner usually.

Next big up for Boa24 is that he mentions using an Adhesion Promoter. This will make a world of difference for you guys on your next trim / dash paintjob - promise you that.

Last up is for the SEM products. It's the best stuff on the market, hands down. We use it all the time & always recommend it to anyone who asks about this stuff.
