wow so you're willing to spend $200+ on a new or used amp thats about 2x 600-800 rms @ 2 ohms then to spend less if you can. im asking ?'s first to see if any 1 had experence with it first. either post up a good brand that will meet those specs with a reasonable price thats both 2 ohm stable and 1 ohm stable for later

or post up what you would spend on something like it. im not stuck with a certain brand im just not tring to buy something thats overpriced and not worth it

Got 2 Pair of Phoenix Gold 6.5s. Whats a decent cheap ass amp to buy 4 em? Don't really fuk wit audio like I use to so I don't know who's reputable anymore. It doesn't have to be special by no means, this shits goin in the daily.

Something that puts out around 100 to 125w per channel would be fine for them. I had a pair being pushed by a MTX 502, got the amp for $80 shipped. Im still using my set now, just replaced the tweeters with some Blaupunkt VC100s I had layin around, but I got a Sundown 125.2 on them now.

So is it safe to say hifonics is the best bang for the buck?
I mean are they worth using for Long term setups??? or is better to just go with something more high end and more $$$???
Speaking about all amp classes they offer

Hifonics are def not bad amps by any means. Yes, their are better brands out their, but as you mention for bang for your buck, they do well. Just got to remember they tend to be overrated depending on the model, so chances are, your going to get a little less power than you believe. Other than that, they straight.

Hifonics is good to go!
Elo just find a amp that will give you 1200w rms @ 2 ohms.

I got a question for yall, I got a old school Kicker KX 1200.1 (2002 Model I believe) running a single DC Sounds Level 4 18" and it sounds good. I want to sell the single 18" and do (2) 15s, same model subs.
Im thinking about trying to find another KX 1200.1 like the one I have and strap the two amps together, or should I just sell my amp and look for a new amp all together? Subs are DVC2 so I need either 2ohm or .5 for a final load.
Im leaning towards either a Kicker KX2500.1 or a Sundown 2000d at 0.5ohms, just didnt want to spend the money on a brand new amp since I got my 1200.1 for the low. Opinions?

i've got a kx1200.1 but i need like $300 shipped for it cus its tied up in a deal...but you can find one cheaper. i wouldn't run at .5 ohm if u didn't have to, but it'll be ok with a good electrical setup.

I apperciate the offer homie, I can get it cheaper but thats not too bad. When I mention about running at 0.5 ohms, I was talking about the Sundown 2000d, if I got a Kicker 2500.1, I could run it at 2 ohms and be fine, or get another KX 1200.1 and strap them together at 2 ohm.

ur the only person i have heard complain about them................ everybody else i know that have used them loved them
Big Ramsey aka ramdaspadhy
Sep 16 2009, 04:04 PM
I'm not complaining about them. I'm just saying what I'v heard from others who have run them. Maxxonics may have fixed the problem, Id unno. All I know is the earlier versions of the amps had a problem with the MOSFETs burning due to cheap parts.
I've used 2 Audiopipe AP30001D's and I love them. I've posted pics of the internals on them, too. Beefy to say the least...
Never had any problem with either of them, and they do rated power

Sep 16 2009, 04:06 PM
