Got a 71 impala that I'm ready to throw some 26x10's on. I really wanted to put a 305/30/26 on them but I will go to a 255/25/26. Whateva it takes to get my shit to tuck. I don't want my tires to bow in fuckin wit them cups. Can I just put bigger coil springs in the front and air shocks in the back? I kno i'd still have to trim some stuff in the wheel well. will larger coil springs make my tires bow too? I'm ready to do this seen some many of my cars wit 6's just not sure what's the best way to lift.

dont need a lift with the right tire size and if you want a chunky tire n 6s and it scrubs get you some spring spacers in the front and air shocks in the rear and the bowin tire just means you need to get a allignment

U can check out the 71 impala I'm tryin to lift at www.cardomain.com/ride/3174792

thats looking good ready for beat and rims but if your worried about your stock height and think its not right and you still got old springs (they start to sag over time) get you some new stock ones from autozone and you will be good but usully people can fit skinnys and 6s or chunkys and 4s easy on stock chunky 6s might need a little help like spring spacers and air shocks or cups and air shocks but usally you need to get an allignment after lifting

The donk looks good, and I'm sure you can't fit the 255/25 in there with no problem. But if you need to lift it would be best to go with cups, it won't be as much as rought ride. But for more specific info on what you should do. There's a caprice lift thread you can check out, a lot of the questions may have been answered. And your tires being bow'd you would just need an alignment.

I called UCL lifts today before I wrote my original post this nut ass dude workin there tried to tell me I need a 17" lift for 6's and the cars wit 6's I see tuckin don't drive. I had to bang on his ass he must have been smokin da wiggles. since my 71 got a 350 I think imm get the big block coil springs for the front and new coils for the back wit air shocks hopefully I won't have to do much trimming

ummmm ucl always tell you bigger lifts then what you need for 3 reasons

1. they want to make $
2. they want they cars to fit over the wheels
3. they ass holes with decent products
CHEVY 3O9
you should be good with bigblock springs for the front
and air shocks for the rear

x2 ..i kno a couple kats roun here wit 6's and skinnys with no lift..but they both 75's not 71's so iono how much bigger or smaller the fenderwells are...all they did tho was add heavy duty springs(but they got bigblocks) and airshocks in the back and had to cut alil bit of metal in the front and push it back sum to turn fully and thats it
capinpimp
Does that give you that "good" stance though??

I always like them looking stock in the rear and up about 3" in the front, mean ass stance

ya but if you got airshox in the back and music you can take air out and you get that gangsta lean...you juz lower hte back more instead of lifting the front and get that super tuck...n iono bout 3"s up more...maybe alil bit but not that much

ok I don't think the big block coil springs in the front gonna work. I checked summit, jegs, napa. the front coil springs for a big block is the same as da small block???????

26" Diablo Elite on 255/30/26
Rear has new coil springs and air shocks. They are pumped up to the max in the picture

Front has a 1" coil booster and new coil springs

I was unable to drive home because I couldn't get enough turn out of the wheel in the front. They were going to cut for me but it included not only cutting the inner fender well but also a small piece at the bottom. I said fuck that and drove home with factories on in the front. I am going to lift more, get new control arms all that bullshit I was trying to avoid in the first damn place.

If you dont give a fuck about the body of your car you can get away with basically no lift at all with the setup i got. But I am going to lift a little more I paid to much for paint to be cutting shit.

The inserts for the rim are not in the picture those are getting painted to match the blue on my car. Soon as I get her right i'll post more

drama.gif U still gonna have to cut!!
badboy1603
another issue I have now. before I left the rim shop my rear tires where identical as far as spacing in the wheel well. when I got home I noticed the driver side rear tire was really close to the fender well as if the whole tire had moved forward. I know they say when u lift a car that u need to new trailing arms to make sure ur tires stay centered in the wheel well. I didn't lift my car that much and on top of that the passenger side is straight. I measured distance from the ground to top of the wheel well on both sides its practically the same.?? what's going on? bad trailing arm bushing?

should have done 275-25-26. should have done 9s in the front.

take your inner fender out, reroute the parking brake cable, reinstall your inner fender, then get a hammer and beat it(no micheal) then under coat, and trim a quarter inch on the piece right behind the wheel on the body that is usally peeking out in front of the trim that runs along the rocker panel.

if the back isnt rubbing then do what i said to the front and dont ask anymore questions
