when i connect my amp to the ground screw it stays on but when i connect my ground wire from my cd player to my battery it goes straight off. What is the problem and this is in a 1999 durango.

Your amp should only come on when your cd player does. Unless you have a hot wire wired to the remote
e-lo
first to make sure you have every thing hooked up right

do you have a remote wire connected to your cd player its usally a blue/white wire on your cd player then hook it up to your remote on your amp this will turn your amp on when your cd player comes on

a set of jacks from cd player and to your amp after thats done

connect your cd player ground wire to any piece of metal if your lazy like me just put your ground wires that you stripped from the cd player to your ant. hole on your cd player then put your ant. wire in to keep it form moving every where

then hook up your ground to your car like before any where you got a piece of straight metal if you dont have any straight metal in your car then take and sand/or scrape with anther piece of metal like screw driver and scrape the paint away and drill a hole and screw a bolt or you can solder or weld it in place but its easer to hold it in place with a bolt then connect all your subs/speaker wires to your amp

now thats done you can take your power wire from your amp hook it up first then run it through the car to the front now you have 2 choices but this one is better look for a gormet in the fire wall and put it in your power wire through then when its through put a fuse block in then put it on your battery but remeber to hook it up to your amp first cause it will cause a fire if that wire sparks and cathes on the interior or it will just melt your plastic on your wire the other choice is if you are using a 8 ga. wire only 8 ga. and smaller you can put it through the fender and door but i will not recomend this way because the door will cut the wire then touch metal and cause you a big problem

now after that if you still have problems you amps has been nigga rigged and will blow up
McLOVIN!!
