looks pretty good..id lower it alil bit but JMO
CuttySupreme1984
we're actually having to go higher. The front wheels keep grabbing the fender when I turn. Any suggestions?

00Negro
Just flex it out a little bit if u don't want to cut it.
CHEVY 3O9
trim it
CuttySupreme1984
thanks for the help! I think we're just going the expensive route. I'm getting lift spindles from universalcarlifts.com and we're using rear end parts from a Fleetwood and lift coils to bring up the back more. The wheels are rubbing on the frame in the front & the back plus the front fender so we're just gonna lift it up higher. That way I can upgrade to 24s later if i wanted. And the tires I have now are 285-30-22 so I'm switching to 255-30s this weekend. The tires are worn out anyway, but hopefully the smaller profile will help too.
Just take a hit
damn man. its only 2's. why you lifting it???
941cutty
so you gonna lift it more and goin with smaller tires? lol wow thats like goin in the opposite direction..but ay it your car so good luck...cuz really you dont have to lift g-body's on 2's wit the rite tire and 4's juz alil lift and the rite tire and offset
THE BAWSE
since your going with the 255-30-22 tires, u wont have to do nothing
leave it like it is, once u change the tires and mount them u will see

poor cutty
Rollin C.C. 941
wheels are hittin the frame in the rear cause u got the wrong offset, dont matter if you lift it up more or not, its still gonna rub in the rear. you need spacers in the rear.......... only like 1/4" though
chink904
oh shit its jon young! LOL
CuttySupreme1984
I got it ridin right. I put a 245/30/22 tire on em and shaved the fender a tad. It doesn't rub at all anymore. I can do U-turns n everything. The only issue now is leaky spokes lol. It's always something.... I was looking into getting some different rims. What off set do I need? Because I tried some today but they sat really deep in the wheel well. I dont really wanna do the spacer/adapter thing but if that's what you have to do then that's cool.

These are the rims I tried.

u need low RWD offset still might have to run 1/4in spacers in da back..

so if those rims are sittin' way in then it's definitely the wrong off-set right?
Landau
like 80% of the time on g-bodys your gonna have to run a adapter in the rear, to stop tire/rims from
rubbing against the frame, its normal , but other than that u should be fine. what did those rims come off of?

I'm not too sure. I found em on craigslist and met up with the guy sellin em and we threw one on for a test fit but it didnt look right at all. It woulda been perfect too cuz its the exact same tire size but I guess I'll have to keep looking. What rims do u suggest? As far as brand/style. It's wierd cuz the wire wheels offset fit nicely IMO without any adapter/spacer.

that really depends on what ya pockets like and what look u tryna go for... u could go floaters (dub, davin) or staggs (forgiatos, asanti, gfg, etc) or go regular face rims... if ya buy em brand new out da rim shop dey gon come in ya bolt pattern and offset but like landau said u still prolly gon have to run adapters/spacer so it wont rub against da frame...

but if dat was my cutty id go 3pc staggs and squat da rear so it sit like dis regal...

das jus me tho.. soulja.gif

941cutty
boi that regal neva gets old to look at...if ic an my gfg's sittin like that imma be happy and gonna try to do it but cutty bodystyles dont hve that flair out in the fenders so it alil harder to do...o and x2 on wat your pockets look like and u can find used 3pc from 745's that fit your cutty..juz search ebay n CL and same wit spinners
CuttySupreme1984
Better shots:

Yea i like those rims. I dont like wheen there's too much space in the rim cuz then u see the brakes & rotar n all that. It looks better covered up. Why is it that I don't need adapters with the wire wheels?? There has to bee some face rims with the same offset as wires. And that Regal is sick...i could drop my rear if I want. I'm ridin on air shocks.

CuttySupreme1984
Oh and also when I was washing it I noticed the rim with the worst leak was coming from the lip, so that one doesnt have leaky spokes. I can tell the lip is slightly bent inward. Is there any fix for that?? Thanks for the help.
chink904
idk bout the leak in the rim. but the reason u need adapters for staggs/3pc wheels is cuz dey much wider. spoke rims arent as wide thas prolly why u dont need anything for them. but 9 times outta 10 u gonna need adapters or u can notch ya frame but thats $...

since u dont like space in da rim why u dont just get some floaters? u cant see nuttin behind da wheel... or some full face staggs off a BMW.
blockburna561
I think the reason you don't need adapters with the spokes is because the piece you bolt on before putting the spokes on acts like an adapter IMO. And idk about the leak on the lip, once I had got some 17" spokes for a merc I had and they would leak thru the lip. Used a hammer to try and fix it, FAILED only made it worse so don't try that.
CuttySupreme1984
picked up these:

941cutty
dayum im not a fan of them rims but they lookl betta then the spokes..id add sum paint on em if you plannin on keepin em JMO tho
386 Motoring
The spokes were crushin man.... Either way its nice to see something simple and clean. I see you didn't lift it. Good choice!

Correct...ive had 5 sets of spokes(two 15in sets, one 16in set, two 22in sets) in my lifetime!!
CuttySupreme1984
Yea Ive had a ton of wires. Startin with 14" Luxors then a ton of 13" knock offs and ofcourse the 22s. I love spokes probably more than most rims but every set I've ever owned has leaked air. I guess that's what you get with used wheels but I just got tired of dealin with it so I got something different. Maybe down the line I'll order up a fresh set of wires but these'll work for now.

You know that man aint correct... its the offset. Sure... spokes come with knock-off adaptors but the offset is the offset. I see alot of bad info passed around these forums. Research yourself before asking people who are just passing bad info. I've owned two sets of knock offs, but i could have told you this owning none cause i sold wheels and tire every day for 2 years.

You can use spacers in the rear if you are rubbing but you may risk rubbing the fenders if you are running wide tires. It doesn't cost much to notch the frame but its a risk i wouldn't take cause you will loose integrity of the frame itself.

ya but when you notch the frame u sposed to use a piece of square tubbing at the top and run it from frame rail to frame rail to give extra support and you sposed to use real thick steel and weld it real good and box in really good..i mean if them boiz in miami doin it all day and they got raw ass motors and they not fuckin breakin frames then id trust it and st pete put up the proper way of doin the frame the rite way..im notchin mine

Passing bad info, ehhh. You probably misunderstood what I said, it may come with the territory of knowing it all. Atleast someone knew what I ment.

I LOVE this Cutty because u kept it simple, yet eye appealing. I'm loving the Wire Wheels, I'm a Olds man myself, I have a Black 1985 Cutlass Supreme on 18's, I cant do it super big, so I gotta make it work for me.
Carolinaboi
The cutty lookin nice homie....just a little info on the air leaking out the lip edge on rims.....I had this happening on my wife's car and her tires were going flat every few days.....and it started happening all the sudden.....it took me about a week to connect that her tires started going flat around the time I had her oil changed. Turns out these fools must of let some air out the tires and it caused the seal to break on them. I thought somebody was messing with her car until I had them checked. Low pro tires are notorious for this if they get run low on air....the'll stay losing air. In most cases if you go get the tires removed, cleaned, and get new bead seal put on it will fix the problem. This may not be the issue with spokes, but other rim riders can hopefully benefit from it.

Clean Cut right there, no lift looks good
