Load 1/3 spinner up with wheel weights til u get the desired effect!!
Xcentrc_1ne
I Appreciate it Mane!
fam0516
does loading it with weight mess the bearings up at all?

man it's not the bearings that go bad on these things (most of the time) it takes a long as time to wear those bearing out on those rims, it's the hub assembly that fucks up, and yes weights are gonna fuck up the hub faster than when they normally would, main reason they stop making floaters

smh at ole boy thinking he got floaters 19.gif
fam0516
isnt the hub assembly the bearing?or is it different......

no hub assembly is what the floater bolts up to, the bearings are that center pc on the floater plate/face that allows it to spin
fam0516
so how does the hub assembly fail its just a metal rod sticking out from the rim that the bearingand spinner face slides onto.. then u screw the bolt on to secure it and then the little key lock thingy..

so i wanna know what make the spinner face wobble?
crownvic02

the assembly allows it to wobble, because the the stud that the spinners slides on becomes lose because of all the weight from hitting bumps in the road etc. or the pins that hold it still break (more than likely from tightening the bolt to tight when mounting the spinner on it), dubs are the type of wheels that aren't meant to be taking on and off alot cause that hub assembly is a pos
fam0516
do dubs have a slight wobble to them when u buy them brand new? or does the wobble appear over time?
crownvic02
appear over time because the stud gets loose on the assembly
fam0516
really hmm.. i just wen outside my hub seems pretty sturdy....REAL FIRM... bu ti have a slight wobble in my face.... u sure its not the bearing.
crownvic02
take the face off and see if the stud thats attached to the hub is loose thats what makes it wobble, trust me those second faces i had on my car were 3 yrs old and was daily driven, they wobble on the previous owners car but on my car they didn't
fam0516
how can u replace those if possible? and how much
fam0516

so the stud on this center piece gets loose???? i dont see how it can but umust know more than me im a dub newbie
crownvic02
yeah same thing i thought, alot times it gets loose from people tightening them 2 tight, mines was straight till i weight my spinners down with weights, and people kept spinning my rims with they hands and shit, so it broke them down quick with those floater weights on them, plus i broke the pins on a couple of them from tightening them 2 tight, but yeah that lil thing gets loose it's wrap, i know dude his came so loose it scratched the fuck out of his back plate and it was kandy sad.gif , but naw there are a few fixes but imo id just buy a whole knew hub assembly idk how much they cost for 2s but for 6s looking at like 200+ apc
fam0516
these dubs r more problems that pleasure

and i know thats why i will only buy mines new, but i will make an exception for them 8s
fam0516
i ll get at crlambo but everywhere i call from superbuytires, to customwheels direct, to locals car shops all tellin me 600-750 and thats soem bull shit
!!!
WHITE BOY
I thought dub lost the rights to float a while back and everything now just spins
fam0516
^^ how they lsoe that right? wouldnt someone else have to come out with something for that to happen
WHITE BOY
idk but i remember a thread on here bout everthing from now on is only gonna spin. might be wrong but mhtwheels.com got them all listed as spinners from the factory

this is what happened to my shit once the pin was fucked up so i got my pops to reinforce all my hubs! He did a good ass job except my bearing housings were worn out 2 which is the part that holds the bearings in place. the hubs are sturdy as hell and has no play in them at all. here are before and after pics. i replaced my bearing housings on my shoalins and them shits were like brand new they didnt wobble at all!!

Damm I just learned alot from that Conversation. Im a DUB Newbie Myself and I was just trying to figure out why they were spinning more than floating but I think I get it now on how the whole rim Works. When I boght them and put them on, They already had a slight wobble too them. I guess they are getting broke in now because they seem to be floating more unless I haul ass and they are spinning.

floaters and spinners is complicated i personnly try to find out eveything before i go and spend money on anything cause if somthing goes wrong after warranty i can just fix it myself and see how complicated if its too complicated then ill go to a shop

wrong old dubs have a pin that goes through the thread of the stud attached to assembly, new dubs come with bolts with the rubber seal on them so they wont turn with out a lil excessive force so you wont have to tighten them up so tight that you break the pins drama.gif

no the pin was for older dubs, 07 or 06 came with the rubber gasket in the bolts so you wouldn't need a pin
fam0516
so... i have old dubs then........................... cuz i gota pin thru mine... ughhhhhh

still need a face 22" esinem sl!!!
fam0516
do davinas have the same problems as dubs? some ppl say trhey use the same hub assembly
crownvic02
yep mht owns davin so you know it's made of the same shit, only reason you don't hear much about davin over here is because there are not many out, i would ride davins in 8s if they wasn't so ugly in that size but yeah
fam0516
how old r my dubs if they have the pins in them..... anyway i can update that shit or it doesnt really matter
crownvic02

i always thought yu had to dial in tha pressure yu want to torque it too -- then it meks tha clickin noise once yu have tightened it enuff.
crownvic02
just tighten with a socket wrench adn when it's a lil tight against the plate ride, they ain't gonna come off or loosen
