Grinding the bolt only works for 4's. Really don't have to w/ 4's if you run the right tire & offset combo.
For 6's, your gonna need the extended spindles.

Wat up. My homeboy did his own wit the 305-30-26 tires. Here go a pic of it. If you want me to I can hit him up and see how much he charge and how long it takes for him to do it. He extended his factory spindles.
carlambodoors
i pmed you..ask him how much and turn around time....what did he have to do in the back? the tires will be 255/30/26

I personally would order them from UCL & run the skinniest tire I could find. Definately not the 305/30/26. To me, thats too much meat for the LX cars. Like on Laww's 300 (in CrownVicDriver's post), he had to do some cutting/ trimming.
And yes, a regular welding shop can do it for you if you know what you need done.

all u do is cut the spindle and half and add about 2-3inches and reweld and wall-laa

i will probably just buy sum used ones and go that route...anyone know how much exactly it has to be extended or will 3 inches be the max? and any idea of what has to be done in the back or will it slap right on with no rubs
carlambodoors

this is the only part i will need to buy right that will be extended? i can use the disc and calipers off the old one right? cause everyone i see sellin them only sell that part that needs to be extended
THE BAWSE
YES
carlambodoors
preciate it...any idea if anything has to be done in the back? and what is the max the spindles should be extended?
crown_vic_driver
I thought the back was the same as the front?

And I probably wouldn't lift the front more than 2-3 inches. If you go higher than that then I'm guessing you will have to worry about tie rods and whatever else is connected to or moves with the spindle.

i dont think so, i never heard anyone saying they had to extend the spidnles in the back, i dont think they have spindles in the back.....i think ol dude with the charger on 6s bellagios said he put sum of them knuckles in the rear to lift it a lil, not very sure

Yep. Gotta cut front & rear w/ 305/30's

yeh with the 305 you got a lot of cutting to do that 305 tire is the same size as a rubberband 28 tire!!! you will cut the shit out of the back door and the front fenders. The back of the car has only coil springs. With the 275 tire you can bolt strait on with the extended spindles and leave everything the way it is. with the 255 tires you have to take the front plastic out and you can add a couple of knuckles to avoid potholes and dropping down on the fenders. Me i would go 255 for lil extra tire cause i bent plenty lips on the 275 bands on the 4s. the car will rub the plastic in the back when you hit a bump from time to time and i dont ride passengers in the back so keep that in mind as well
carlambodoors
autozone knucles right?...i will be riding passengers in the back from time to time and i may thrown in a system...what do you suggest doin in the back to prevent the fender from cutting up the tire? that happened with my vic on ganja 4s with 275 tires, the quarter cut the shit out my tires

I dont ride deep and never had dat shit happen to me on 4s and if you going 6s i know you gonna have that problem in the back again!!!! see if they make air shocks for the charger im not sure u can maybe add more knuckles but those coils at the back are tight ass hell!!! i found out that they have air shocks for mustangs so im sure they may have some for chargers as well.

on 255s you dont have to cut the back. you need two jacks when puttin the back rim on!!! jack the car up on the side near the back tire and put the other jack under the shock mount are jack it up which will shift the rear end back far enough to get the rim on and it will stay shifted back once up let the car back down. I been on them shits since june and im still good!! hit me up if you got any problems 662 212 3144
