Anyone actually used the urethane kandy? It's not really a true candy, just similar. Just curious to see how the results turned out.

The Urethane Kandies are true Kandies. The KBC's are not true kandies.

Painted 2 of mycars HOK KBC and they turned out real good, the Urethane just sprays on wet. Its like tinted clear and is harder to spray than KBC, if you don't got experience wit it.

The last two pics are UK's. You shoot regular base under your kandy. My car is Majestic blue over silver. The box is Rootbeer over black with silver marble.

The UK is kandy.
UK= Urethane Kandy
KBC=Kandy Base Coat <--- Not the "true" kandy, mimics the look & not as deep, the first two cars are KBC, the Last two are UK

The only bad thing about candy is that it's hard to match if you're in a wreck or if you have rock pecks from driving. I wouldn't do candy on a daily just because of that. Those KBC's look aight. I think they'd look better as a base with a pearl, like that orange with a gold pearl. Not as deep as UK's over a light base, but still would look nice.

depending on who spraying and the clear they use, a kbc can look identical to a UK and no one could tell.

why would you do that(unless u where playing) it would defeat the purpose of a kbc and a candy.... easiest thing to do is get the top coat(candy) and tint your base (silver mixed with red, green ect) so its like a washed out metallic.. but then again i dont buy factory pacs.

thats why they offer both lines because some people cant or dont want to afford the labor that goes into doing a " real " kandie watever u define that as.
the paint itself when it comes down to it isnt really that much more exp

I don't even mention KBC's to my customers anymore. Either they pay for UK, Xotic, or Carizzma, or they get a regular basecoat clearcoat job. It's not worth someone having to ask if it's Kandy. You know a true Kandy when you see it and that KBC only looks like Kandy in direct sunlight.
