i got a 87 cutty and my car turns its just my steering wheel is woobly. and u can move it up and down. do u think it is the u joints in it?

You will be better off getting a new column for about $65 homie. It take too long to fix it

THERE ARE THREE SCREWS IN THE NECK THAT YOU NEED TO TIGHTEN, BUT IF YOU GET THAT DONE HAVE THEM TO TAKE THE SPRING THAT PUT THE TILT OUT THAT KEEPS THE COLUMN TIGHT. ITS THE SPRING THAT PULL ON THE THREE SCREWS THAT OVER TIME OF UP N DOWN LOOSEN THE NECK.

Here yo u go, check out this site. Shouldn't take you too long to just fix yourself if you're mechanically inclined rather than buying a new one. You just need some basic tools and a few rental tools to do it.

I read that same thread when i was trying to do my column. It ain't as easy as it sounds. Once I got inside the column I was like fuck it & snatched the column out my other cutty
