I know i posted this in the Paint section but I know more people come in here.

Alright I got an 1981 Cutlass. I want to paint my interior panels jet black. Can someone give me a breakdown on which paint to use and what all is needed to do a good job? Thanks.

Appreciate That Much.

So what Im thinking is, Sand them a little, Clean them with....idk, and then spray them.

I seen something about a spray prep. Do you know if thats neccessary?

Do you want to keep the texture or no?

If you want to keep the texture then lightly scuff the panels, clean them with a good degreaser, add a light coat or two of an Adhesive Promoter(Bulldog is good) let that sit for a while till completely dried. Since you just want to change them to black do 3 light coats of paint, pray them at a fair distance. You dont want 3 heavy layers of paint..

O. and I dont know about Dupli colors paints, Ive only used their filler primer which is okay for little interior things I guess. SEM is pretty good though.
