I have a Chevy that has a 305 that has new headers, Holley Carb, New Intake, Cam, and Dual Flowmasters, and I am putting 26's on it and I need to know what size gear to run in my posi. I want to have good acceleration and fast take off.

you can go wit 373 gears thats what i was going to do but i changed my mind so i bought 410 gears instead. either will do but i think the 410 will give you that take off your looking for.

if u want a faster take off.. the lower the gear ratio(higher the #) the faster you'll take off at a stand still.. but you will sacrifice power in your high rpm range

Im about to put 3:73 in my truck to see if it pulls better. I asked my mechanic about a stall but he said try the gears first and increase horsepower before you start talking about a stall. I only have 22s on my truck and I don't like the way my truck pulls. If the gears don't work I will put a built 350 in the truck with a 2000-2500 stall with the gears.

go 350 first. if it's not enough then work with the gear 4.10 posi. if that doesnt do it then once you get a stall it should be enough unless u tryin to take it to the track or something.

i would go gears first.. just upgrading the motor to a 350 wont really make u pull off a whole lot faster..you may have more power.. but it wont gaurantee that you're gonna be planting that power to the ground.. the gears and maybe some simple mods will make u pull off alot harder(no homo)..

DUDE STFU............ get that weaksauced 192 inline 6 you got and keep it moving.

Tractor Trailers make 700lbs of tourqe and are still geared low.

If you have alot of Mass to turn you need tourqe.

Put some gears in it.
