Frequencys are different between the two.

100W Rms/200W Nominal/400W Peak, 40-50W Rms isnt going to do anything.

my opinion on the seleniums 6 & 8, played with them today with around 30-40rms

6" Selenium
if you ain't got atleast 90rms to give don't even bother yourself buying it, you would be better off with the dayton audio 6s, but it will get loud enough with 50 rms, but you will notice that it is begging for more, but it handles bass pretty well all the way down to 40hz, i would recommend to anyone who has the power, and wants something that has widerange of things it can handle such as midbass midrange & freq. a lil higher

8" Selenium
Man i love this bitch lol, it handle bass all the way down to 40hz really well, and gets louder than the 6" selenium with the same amount of power (cone area and higher efficiency is the reason y i would guess) but what i really like about this driver is how vocal it is, it really brings out the words in the songs, but on higher freq. it doesn't put out sound, but midrange & midbass it is a great woofer, has me thinking about putting 1 8 in the door with 2 6s, in stead of 3 6s, we'll see how that goes when i finally get my doors done and see how fitment goes

Did you get some st350 too?

Question for anyone:

How many watts should I through at these 6's I got 100 to each? How about the 8's Gonna order 2 of them and How much to the tweets? Are you guys using crossover? Also are you running 8's and 6's an tweets all on one amp or what?
Steven Q. Urkel
100+ to 6's

150+ to 8's

Idk bout the tweets, Specs say 75wrms, think it can take more.

Seperate Amps for Mids & Tweets.

you have to use separate amps to get the correct crossover points

So back doors..

(1) 8in and (1) 6in with (1) ST up top

Or

(1) 8 and (1) ST up top

I dont think I'll have room for two 8's

Amp suggestions?? for (8) 6's (4) 8's (4) ST's ?? Using two 15in btl and probably sundown amp I guess I should gone ahead and use all sundown amps and match it up a bit.. I got ma dude drawing some shit out for the trunk now.

Prob be running with some Kinetik batts, trying to see if I can get two mounted under the hood.

are you trying to keep it all hifonics, you could get a rft8002 and power all the 6s and 8s, unless you plan on running different freq adjustments to them, or that amp may be a lil to big though as in the actual measurements of it, it's stupid huge

I dont know I know very very little about amps/speaker as to how many watts this and that an all of that shit.. I be reading too much into my engine and shit on getting that right but I can use this to power two 15in btl right? http://www.sundownaudio.com/3000d.html

I want to run all the same amps so either all Sundown or all Hifonics those are just the brand I hear good things about, mostly anyways.
Uncle Phil
You can use the Sundown 3000D on the BTL's but you will be underpowering them with 1 amp

BTL's= 2,500W RMS
Sundown 3000d- (very underrated, 3000W RMS more like 3500RMS+)

2000 dry.gif actually, but i wouldn't recommend btl if you gonna underpower them because they are not very efficient at low power level, if you got bread to drop on some 15" btls looking into dc sound lab lv4 xl, pap wmd2, nightshades, fi bl, audioque (even though i'm not a fan of them anymore) it numerous amounts of subs you could throw on the sundown 3000 that will sound good

what kinda coil setup are u looking to run if u want BTLs then Id suggest dual 2ohm coils and strap a pair 2000s @ 2ohm. Suggetions. AQ2200Ds is the 1st to come to mind. Its a nice quality of a budget amp. 2 will run u around what u'll pay for a Sundown SAZ3K

I dont plan on putting the max amount I can on the subs, maybe something for say daily driving even though it wont be an daily ya know. I gotta do some measurements I was hoping to use either 1 amp for the subs or 2 amps but keep the length pretty decent since I want to be able to line them all up against the back of the trunk near the tail lights cause its gonna be a TIGHT fit in there.

I want to use the 8in selenium as midbass driver

2K-2500rms is nowhere near maxing out a BTL. U need to decide on what type of power u wanna run and get subs that fit in that range. Daily is daily. wheter it be 1000watts or 100,000watts. Daily means its setup for music....has nothing to do with the amount of power u run to a certain extent. Ive seen 3000Ds on BTLs as dailys....taking it like a champ. Just looking at what ur saying I think ur more so looking to run around 1500rms per sub (just guessing). If so then like crownvic said a BTL shouldnt even be in the picture. Id suggest some PAP WMD subs if u want performance on a budget, Fi BL or Atomic E.L.E all these will be happy with that amount of power. The trick is to run something closer to what it was built for to get its full potential.

for example..... A Fi BL is rated @ 1000watts but with the options its good up to around 1800rms or just a lil more. A BTL is rated @ 2K but with options its good all the way up to 5K. So really with 1500rms even though the BTL is the better sub; the BL would be louder with that amount of power due to the fact that ur powering it closer to its potential compared to the BTL that can take globs of power. Get what we are saying?

higher power handling= lower efficiency

I got you, btl it will be though. I definitely dont want to under power them. I was just hoping to run 1 amp to power both of them. So one of the saz 3000d to each sub? I wan to get use the 8's as a midbass driver so should I have these on a separate amp then the 6's?

Which on these http://www.sundownaudio.com/products.html would you recommend to power the 6's, 8's and tweets

I got pretty much measurement for all their amps, Im going to whip out the measuring tape tomorrow to see how much room they will all take up...

I wanted some train horns just to fuck with people allgood.gif but i doubt a tank and compressor is gonna squeeze in there.
crownvic02
like do you just wana run sundown or something, unless you got connections, with the type of money you gonna spend for 2 of those 3000ds used you could grab a 5k amp brand new for, or find a used 5k for 650-800 like popcorn in a movies, you see what i'm saying, especially if you have a restraint on room

sub dependant.....must I remind u that the BTL, Audiopulse LMS Ultra and Atomic APXX have db ratings in the mid-high 90s. The Audiopulse and Atomic are both 5K rms. but they have a bigger voice coil. I know u know this but for those who dont in the case u do have a sub or speaker that has a low spl/db sensitivity.....an advantage is u are able to run more wattage. It kinda works to ur advantage in a way with subs but it can hurt u if u dont plan on running alot of power when it comes to front speakers. In that case with fronts it will take more to get it loud

i heard begger coils are easier to burn up due to them being heavier than your average 3 inch coils, how true is that

never heard that. I dont see why. If so then Atomic wouldnt make it a added option. their return/failure rate is 2 low as hell so they doing something right over there. this is my 1st time hearing this. singaboy311 ran 2 LMSs with a 4-Sundown 3000Ds (2 on each=over 7K rms) on music with no problems. the Atomic got a guy running 2 APXX18s with damn near twice dat doing 40hz tones for several minutes at a time. hey hey hey hey, i said someone told me that lol.....................but i didn't get it or believe it when i was told that, he just saying bigger coils have a higher clipping rate are more easy to burn up than smaller coils, due to size but idk i was just quoting someone else...........but anyway i did get that t5002, and shame on rockford for marketing that as a 500 watt amp i'm pretty sure alot of mids and subs blew due to that, i gotta test it and make sure it's 100, but i'mma take my car to the shop and have my seleniums put in probably after next week so i'll probably wait till then, idk depends on what they charging for what i want which is not complicated at all it's pretty simple shouldnt cost more than 150-200 a door (which is only the front 2) and my back dash which shouldn't run more than 200 to do what i want to it, so i'm looking at comming out no more than 600 for the whole sha bang

I hunts down the deals all day lol, plus its lovely when you have cash flow coming in from different people biggrin.gif I mean they dont have to be all sundown, but I do want all of the same amps the same brand. yall boys recommend me something cause i'm tired of looking.

I got for the back:
6 eminence alpha's(100wrms each@100hz)
6 eminence apt-80's(50wrms each@ 2.5khz)(don't know if imma use them all)
2 selenium d250x's with horns that play down to 600hz

From a past install i got this crunch, i think it's the gp2250. I remember though it's rated @ 250*2@ 2 ohms's or 500*1@4 ohm's.

im thinking http://ikesound.com/hifonics_zxi6008 for the mids
running the crunch i have now on the tweets &
http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/8264 on the horns...

trying to find a way to run it ***right*** all on 2 amps...is there something im not thinking of?
