as u can see this is my first post, lol, im still tryin to figure out how to post up pics. it was easier to just do a youtube link. this is my 81 cutlass i bought 2 yrs ago, it came wit a v6 not runnin , all stock, and had been parked since 1994. i dropped in a 350 sbc bored .30 over, forged pistons, rods, and a .294 comps cam, oversized valves and aluminum rockers on da heads, a edelbrock air gap intake and a edelbrock 750 carb. edelbrock chrome dress up kit, and chrome pulleys. it also has a 350 turbo trans wit a 2500 stall and shift kit. thats all ive been able to do, but future plans are for nice paint job, and some 24s , i should be done by may of 09. coments and sugestions are welcomed, thnx

update- well heres a few things i just got for my cutlass, i just got these 24x10 wheels wit 255/30/24 tires used but in good condition real cheap, im just tryin to decide which part of the wheel to paint to match da car. im gettin my car painted the 2008-09 lexus metallic maroon within the next month. i also got all the chrome rocker moldings that go around the whole car, in good condition, even the hard to find fron pices that go between the front bumper and front wheels. i got the 1 inch adapters/spacers for the rear so my wheels can go on. i got a new grant woodgrain wheel and adapter. i went ahead and got some lift cups but im gonna cut them down cuz i dont want to use lift nuckles, and i want that miami stance. nobody here in dallas does that, every1 ridin skinnies wit a huge lift and think they hard, lol. i got my shocks, rotors, brakes, and all the hardware to redu my suspension and brakes. there a swap meet comin up in april, im hopin to find a posi unit and some 3.73s. anyways let me know what yal think and any suggestions on what part of the wheel to paint , thanx

Yeah man it sounds like that cutty is gone be something serious. I got a 81 cutlass i'm building also. I got 275/30/24 on mine. But i'm not sure what color i wanna paint my car. I got a built motor and all in it. I also used the 1 inch adapters but I put them all the way around and my wheels still don't poke out.

i really dont wanna use any adapters cuz i heard crazy stories about them, especially how im gonna be driving this bitch, lol. i cant wait, its been too long already. so imma look into cuttin the back frame ( notch) and see if that will clear them without the spacers, if not maybe i can use smaller spacers cuz i want to be able to drop the back without worryin about hittin the tire.

Click to view attachmentClick to view attachmentClick to view attachment heres my ride after a month at da bodyshop, i can see some small dents but overall im koo wit it. i just did all new suspension bushings, tie rods, ball joints, all 4 springs and shocks. im doin the brakes this weekend and puttin air in da rear shocks, and knuckles in da front, i hope that will work. if not im gonna cut the cups i have in half and see where dat leaves me. my rocker moldings are at a shop gettin polished, i should get them in about 2-3 weeks. ill post some more pics later

bro, i saved a lot of money goin to swapmeets, and on craigslist, and me and my homeboy did all the work. so i really couldnt say. everything on dat motor and trans is either used or rebuilt, except for a couple a things.

thats how ive been gettin most my parts cuz my mechanic a old dragracer so he kno all the racers with shops around here and i been gettin tons of good stuff for the l-o so ive been savin alot...only thing new i bought so far was a camshaft n lifters n chrome water neck n breather caps(nothin major)

The car came out clean I see. I just got mine in primer now. Still debatin on the color though. Also thinkn about swappin the motor out for anotha built motor......but keep me updatin on the cutty man

thanx for the coments, rite now im havin trouble getin my rims not to rub. i put new air shocks and new springs all da way around wit lift knuckles up front abd all 4 tires rub on da fenders, im thinkin bout usin da cups now but trimin down a bit and see wsup. i was also considerin cuttin da trailin arms in da rear and makin dem about a inch longer or findin some longer 1s at the junkyard off another car.

ent=12036:jjride09_009.JPG]Click to view attachmenti finally got my car goin. i redid all my suspension, new everything, v8 cutlass springs, shocks up front, airshocks in da back, ball joints, pitman arm, bushings, brakes , brake hoses, rotors, drums. only thing to change now is my powersteering pump, the chrome 1 i have didnt work for me, so i used a old 1 my boi gave me and now my steering box is leaking, seems like anytime i try to save a buck it backfires. for the lift i used 1 inch cups up front, and for the rear im using airshocks, and i got some dude to extend my lower trailing arms like a inch or so. i had to cut the front fenders a bit but when i get the trim that goes around the wheel wells u shouldnt be able to tell, i hope. i cut the plastic in the fender wells in a couple of places where it rubbed. in da rear i only had to grind some places along the chasis. all i have to do now for the undercarriege is to clean up the light rust, and paint everything black, after i fix the steering box. it rides real good, no bounce, no rub nowhere. the only thing is i cant make sharp u turns cuz da front wheels rub on the chasis, but its not that bad. heres a couple of pics , any comments or suggestions or welcomed. keep in mind im in Dallas, and prolly the only1 with this stance, and no 1 here likes it, lol. i do. every1 here likes ridin up high. i hope i got the stance rite.....

did you section any of the frame or are your wheels not that deep and rite offset? cuz my staggs are hittin the frame and i dont want adaptors so i guess ima have the frame sectioned...juz wonderin if you had that problem

i had to use adapters for the back, it was the cheapest way. I think theyre like 1 inch or 1 1/4 inch adapters, and the rims are 24 x 10 and they dont stick out. On the frame i hade to shave it down on the corners with a grinder.

see my rims was rite at the edge of the lip witout any adaptor so im afraid a 1inch adaptor gonna make em com out to far...n mine are 22x10 wit a 5 inch lip..maybe you got a higher offset or sumthin iono imma really get into once the car put 2getha and new rearend on

thanx bro, its diffrent over here, aint too many ppl ridin expensive rims, so no 3 piece or dubs for the atl over here. Youll see nice cars, candy and all but on no brand wheels. shit ppl will slap rims on anything with a bunch of twist in knuckles, lol.
