all of a sudden i see black smoke commin from my hood and and an even bigger blacker cloud of smoke behind me in tha rearview .. a nicca heart jumped out his chest and sat next to me in tha passengar seat !!! ...

man... i made it to tha next exit and coolant was boilin out tha bottom of my shit ... i prayed it was tha thermostat buuuuut NOPE dat wasn't it .. had to finish tha day out on a flat bed ..didn't even want to hit tha cookout no damn mo

but yea, i pulled tha thermostat out and dropped in another one after she cooled a bit and cranked her back up ...man it sounded like i had cinder blocks jumping round in that bitch ....so i shut her down before that shit shoot through my damn oil pan ... but anyway ... i been workin on it ... bit by bit ..dollar by dollar...

it ain't as detailed as St. Petes engine rebuild but i'm comin along wit it ... i got a purdy good knowledge of engines (thanks mostly to tinkering round on my pops old cars when i was a shawdy and tha world wide damn web) ....... i took tha easy way out and sent that mug to tha shop and had them rebuild that bitch and leave tha cosmetic junk to me

i started just to buy a new enjine and call it a loss but had seccond thoughts and figured id keep it orig wit tha numbers matchin











that shit was a bitch to pull out too !!!

in tha mean time i dropped that bitch off at tha shop and headed back to get started on cleanin up tha engine bay ... cleand tha bay out and repainted it .. not a professional grade job but compared to what it look-ed-ed like B4!...

engine finally came back clean enough to eat off of after bout 3 or 4 wks ...by then i had been stacking up my parts and accesories ... nigga was geeked !.. a nigga couldn't wait to throw on my new valve covers and intake manifold just to picture what it gon look like ... now i gotta throw some paint on her

so far he did my pulleys (not the alluminum one in tha pic..i'mma pull dat off..thats for a chevy) but he did my hood hinges and i got a stack of other shit i'mma send to him as money comes in

...but yea i been reading on here bout tha work he did for other folks and figured i'd stop searching tha net for hard to find chrome parts and get just get my origional salvagable parts dipped tha right way













... i had bought some chrome hood hinges for a 72 buick skylark thinking theyd also fit a 72 cutlass but tha damn holes to attach tha hood didn't lign up wit the hood bolts for a cutlass ...

so if any of yall out there got a 72 buick holla @ me cause i ain't doin shit but sitting on em !!! ...

i just went on ahead and had steve dip my origioals too




man ...i still gotta run some new engine wires n shit ...




as u can see my engine wires aint shit ...

i found the origional engine bay and forward lighting harness on ebay tho ..... started to cop that mug but changed my mind and figured id be better off snatching ALL them old wires out front to back of tha whole damn car and lay some new modern wires...in case i decide to add some new gadgets

shit ..i still got tha old school glass fuses .....them shits is hard to find on a humbug ...

i went on and copped a Painless 18 circuit GM muscle car wiring kit for 72 cutlass after reading up on them





oh ...this is gonna be fun pulling all that old shit from behind tha dash and throuought tha car






but ..yea .. i'mm post up when i make some major steps forward

what you use to paint ya bay with Ive seen someone use brake caliper paint and it came out amazing!!! dries fast and hard as fuck too!































PS:

In the chevy magazine they pressure washed the bay, then painted the engine and used high temperature engine block paint for the bay also.

yea .. i preassure washed it a few times and sanded summa tha rust away and went over it wit a few cans of VHT high temp paint ...yea same Paint i used for tha block ...

took me a minute but it came out alright ...hell ANYTHING woulda looked better than what it looked like in tha beginning shit ...lol[size="2"][/size]

i been looking for a chrome compressor seeing as though i couldn't get my old ass A6 chromed ... i jsut said fukit and sanded all tha old black paint off it and headed to auto zone and got me a damn clutch and pulley puller and statch that shit off ... i ended up painting tha compresor and alternator red .. i'mma just throw on some chrome pulleys to match err than else .. a lil red in there will offset all this damn chrome

but yea man ..they hardly make ANYTHING for oldsmobile

...everything is CHEVY CHEVY CHEVY .. i fucked off $$$ on GM pulleys that didn't even fit and tha bracket mounting holes don't line up on my block

so i just ran wit my origional parts

yea i heard that it can be a task ...errbody saying that id run into problems wit some of tha origional connectors n junk ... but all in all it shouldn't be a prob to swap out old connectors wit new connectors if i run into such a prollem ...and yea i'mma be running them myself ..but wit tha help of my folk tho

i already pulled tha seats out and carpet up half way and tha orig factory wires run along tha floor in a sleve ..i can jus pull em out and follow through to tha trunk ... i'm glad i got a convertable .. wires run round tha well liner to tha tail lights ..hard part is tha dash .. but tha wires are labled allllll tha way to tha end so i wont have problems trying to figure out what tha yellow wire goes to n shit when i get off deep in it

i'mma cross my fingers and hope it's as painless as tha box say

carb came in today ..i went wit a Holley street avenger 770 ... started mounting tha brackets ...shit starting to make tha engine look bigger ..lol.. block look lil-den a mug just sittin in tha bay wit no trimmingz ....and i took them ugly ass aluminum pulleys off and put on my newly chromed origionals



























as u can see ... a nigga STILL workin these wires ... i'm bout to tha point of getting a steak nife and saw all this shit out and put tha dash back together .... aint no turning back now !

I started to paint origional radiator fan and clutch also but after talkin wit my boy opted to trash it and run 2 ELECTRIC fans ... since my -Painfull ass- Painless kit has wiring for eletric fans i figured what tha hell...might as well step it up 2 notches

besides it gives me more room behind the radiator ...

and OH YES! i'm deinately runnin a 4 ROW radiator THIS time ...

i've sooo learned my lesson from being cheap ..,.... damn $99 single row autozone radiator is tha reason i'm rebuilding in tha fist damn place.
