Man we all done seen cars with the candy fading from light to dark going to top to bottom. My question is how do painters do that shit? I mean I know they used more than one basecoat under the candy right? Like when ppl be saying they got 3 flip candy, that mean three basecoats right?

Its just like a fade paint job then kandy over it. Same as a two-tone kandy- just a two-tone paint job, then kandied....

lmao... i think it's the gun. u gotta tilt it back a bit and shot it upward with a solid base coat when it's lookin right then u spray that kandy then the clear coat.. im assuming this.

ever painter has there own way, Ive seen some fade the base coat, Ive seen some use the same base coat and fade the kandy (just more layers towards the bottom.
All comes down to the skills of the painter

Damn, those are some good pictures of what I was asking. Looks like the base is silver and the painter just added a lil black fade towards the bottom then added the kandy coat when he finished. Good shit.

wow im reading replies and thank god my painter is old school flippin fades the real way is the base,no gun,no special angle spray pattern,no darker in the bottom none of that non sense....
candy paint is a tint, basically see thru lets say, whatever is painted on such as bases and patterns, flames or flags is totally diff. than candy................
if u think it has to do with hand movement or spray pattern it does... a shitty job will come out cloudy or spotty meaning darker spots in some spots than others seen this too many times over an over that is no good.
my best advice candy paint is tricky every color has a downside and or defect....i can explain if u really want...
i recommend a professional who has proven himself multiple times before u make a decision and look at his work most of the time it speaks for itself..........
a real deal painter can use concentrate candy and will not effect the look or outcome and especially the performance meaning it takes atleast 4 years before it starts to fade..

Tilting the gun up is how you get the fade effect.
