crown_vic_driver
I ain't never hears of nobody shit wobbling like that. Maybe his tierods or upperballjoints was fucked up. I replaced them on mines.
mista_k214
like we were going on a little uphill and when we started going downhill, his shit started wobbling. Like if the tire was gonna pop off.

I was like dayum i wanna tell him cuz in the end he finna be crying when all his shit fuck up...but cats down here take it to the heart and think im hating

Air Merc
wat all do i need 2 do 2 lift a 97 grand marquis 2 put on 295/35/24 tires so it dont rub or nuthin want 2 be able 2 turn really good 2 jus wonderin dont want 2 be right on da tires alil up ova dem
crown_vic_driver
put some cups on it and you will sit just right.
Air Merc
will i be able 2 ride 4deep with the cups and wont have 2 worry bout my tires rubbin. sumbody told me i goin 2 need a arms and trailin arms 2 keep my wheels center and str8 knw if dat true how many inchs will da cups get me.
crown_vic_driver
You can ride 4 deep depend on how strong yo coil springs is in the back really. Me and crownvic02 ordered some airshocks like 5 inches longer than factory ones to make up for that and support extra weight while keeping ride height. And they go on perfect with the cups. part number at advance auto parts is ma793. They are made by monroe. You don't have to get a arms and trailing arms but you will have to cut alot less with them. Look at my signature. That is how I had to cut wit just cups and 295-35-24 tires.
Air Merc
aite thanks for da help
crownvic02
Man Where Tha fuck can we get some a-arms for these fucking crown vics (damn why ford gotta make everything so fucking difficult) shit should of bought a 95 caprice when i had tha chance oooops did i say that, but real shit do anybody got any thing

AY FRIED? For them shocks what Vehicle is them shocks made for you know by any chance?

nda03vic
The shocks that I got is off some car...I cant remember which 1 tho...
crown_vic_driver
The ma793 shocks i was talkin bout are airshocks and they are for a 1980 - 1988 thunderbird or mercury cougar. I think they are under rated for the weight of our car but they still worked when I had them though. They are long as hell.
If you get the f-150 shocks make sure you get the 4x4 ones because they are like 4 inches longer than 2x4.
crownvic02
Those f-150 4x4 might not fit in ur rear nda03vic cause they are fatter than tha factory vic shocks, I know that y yall pretty much can't use air shocks cause small area the shock is located at, so might wana check that
tez4life
I saw these the other night, they are regular length but might be able to use a shock extender with them, im not sure.

I found the 04 F 150 air shocks online one time, just cant remember where.

EDIT: here you go dawg, right here

That was the issue when I tried to get a set of air shocks a year ago, since the shocks are on the outside of the frame, they would be too wide. If I got a airshock to fit, anything wider than my stocks would rub against it. I want to just relocate the mount if thats possible, and make it simpler
crownvic02
yeah my nigga had a 03 merc, and boy was his offset stupid but he couldn't find a way to lift his shit, till he finally drop on top the tire so hard one time he dented his fender extra ugly so he just went on and did a body lift, but body lifts on our cars don't look as bad cause the bar only shows about 1-2 inches, but I just like to look clean up under my car

My front end is fine...I have problem with my rear...My left back bumper is all f*cked up from rubbing...Like real talk eventually ima have to replace it from rubbing. Ima probably need like at least another inch or so...Especially when I redo the system drop a bigger box...WISH YOU WERE NEAR BIGBOI TO GET ME STR8(NO HOMO)

I dont think he had to, on the older Vics like his and Crown02 the rear shocks are inside the frame. Should not have had to relocate anything.
crownvic02
Naw we done have to relocate our shit, but I had that same problem with my 4s go to advance and buy some wine-up blocks for the back and they will help u out alot(they will stiffen up ur ride) and raise ur back about another inch or 2, u will need two packs, two blocks on each spring in tha back, and ur problem will be fixed

What do you mean "wine up blocks"? Are you talking about spring spacers dawg?
crownvic02
yeah, this is how they should look in your spring two on each spring, you can do it yourself takes a lil time though but it will help seriously

Yeah. I went to a machine shop and got them to make me a piece to raise my factory lower shock mounting hole up 6 inches because it is directally vertical to the top mounting hole and used factory crown vic airshocks. I'll up some pics when I get home from work.
crown_vic_driver

These the brackets I had made for my back lower shock mount.
crown_vic_driver
The two hole end is a hole I got them at 5 inches and 6 inches. I could use either one.

Cool, I never new.
NICKLEE94
DIDNT YOU USE SHOCK EXTENDERS IN THE FRONT? DO THEY WORK GOOD?
crown_vic_driver
I had them on tehre but I took them off and bought some new crown vic shocks. Workin fine for me. After my a arm piece get here from big boi I might put extenders back on it depending on how my front suspension is sittin.
bosco
ay if i keep dis 86 towncar whut would i have 2 do 2 fit 4s no cut no rub mu boy said 7inch cups would do but i ont kno if he kno whu he talkn bot
IcyWhite
what do you need to do to fit 295/35/24 on an 03 and up towncar without any major cutting???
crownvic02
^^^ u might wana choose a different tire size 275 25 24 if u really trying to avoid cutting
IcyWhite
major cutting... nothing thats going to be noticably visible on the outside sheet metal. i dont mind cutting inside or a slight trim on the outside
indeed
I got a 98 towncar and i am trying to get off these 22's and get on some 4's or even 6's but i got air bags in the rear. Can i just get some vic springs and cups and that would work or do yall know a way to keep the air ride?
crown_vic_driver
They make a air bag conversion kit to convert from bags to coil spring then put come cups under the springs.
indeed

crownvic02
um get some better shocks with a stud extender on top for tha front, cause your shocks are fully extended, or you could go buy some load carrier shocks from autozone with the stud extenders and they help out with tha bouncing
