box is being built by one of the sundown team members, i'll be gettin a saz3000.1 when they drop, but for now i'ma stick with a autotekmm2000.d and be happy. Hd3's made by the same niggaz as DD and they real efficient subs.

yall prolly lookin at the port like WTF(i was), but it's curved like that to cutdown on port turbulence and port noise. this cat outta N.C. and been doin shit like this for ages. you can look him up on www.realmofexcursion.com

i can recall he hit 138-140 with using 2 dd1508's and a sundown 100.2 in a TransLine box. DAMN!

Holy shit, that's some impressive numbers...

Nice box too, is the curve made out of MDF too?

yeah, he made like lil 1/8th of a inch cuts to bend, and some measuring and shit. 250 shipped aint bad at all for a box of this caliber. they got a video somewhere of the 8's he did. this muffuca smart as shit. i'ma try find that video.

I'm assuming when you said transline you meant transmission line? If so, that's a nice design to go with! Not a lot of people have heard of it on the board, but just to let everyone know, if someone ever just...offers to build you a transmission line enclosure and really knows how (isn't bs'ing you), DO IT. They are similar to ported only in the fact that they aren't sealed. They don't really have a tuning frequency, persay, but tend to be the loudest around 30-45 hertz, depending on how it's built. It's based off the quarter-wave theory and involved a lot more than sq feet and port length. I've just recently started messing with TL designs. I was considering building one for my next install... a single FI Q-series 18 or a 2 12" SSD's... not 100% sure what I want to do yet, though.

GOOD LOOKIN BOX!

CORRECTION>>> box is a hybrid transmission line<<<<<<<
ramdaspadhye
a hybrid transmission line...

How about...no

It's either a TL or it's not, not much of a hybrid. Is looks to me like it would probably be a straight TL or a TQWB... tapered quarter wave box, for those who don't know....

Or maybe it's just ported with a little stuffing wink.gif
drapedupDTS
uhhh... not ported

but u might be right about the hybrid part. i know it works with the 1/4 wave length theory. and it is TL. like this:

mainly, i dont give a shit what it is, long as that shit bang. i aint no speaker geek or nuthin'. i know that shit gone beat hard and sound good doin it.
